Woman's Colour Block NYC Dress £90-105- The Pretty Dress Company at Tucci.
I don't know if I'm now showing my ages but remember when Asos soley used to focus on finding you the items you would see celebs wearing and the high street stores would take ages for the catwalk inspired pieces to filter in. These days the turn around is in a matter of weeks. If you recall the post I did the other week on my top picks from my local designer store Van Mildert, I mentioned I was looking for one of the dresses when I was at the Metro Centre as Durham didn't have it in.
If you are from the North East you will know Tucci as Van Milderts little sibling- the best way to describe the clothing ranges within the two stores is that Tucci is more purse friendly and contains more high street brands, whereas what would be seen are the more expensive pieces in store (ie French Connection), this is normally the lower price end of Van Mildert. However if you are wanting something from one of the stores its always worth checking both.
Whilst browsing the rails in Tucci I was suprised to see these dresses by an independent company called "The Pretty Dress Company" which are quite good dupes for some of Victoria Beckham's S/S12 collection. These dresses have been seen on many celebs such as Jessica Wright from Towie (I know she's not a celeb, but you know what I mean) and for £90-£105 you can have the designer look at a fraction of the £2000-£3000 price tag. You don't have to shell out a small fortune to grab the designer look, if its good enough for celebrities to do this with all their money, its definately good enough for me!!
Do you prefer to buy high street dupes of catwalk items or would you rather save up for the real deal?
