Do you like my lip tattoo?
If you are a regular reader of the blog you know that I am a glasses wearer- normally on outfit posts I'm wearing my contact lenses however now and again you have seen me with my glasees on (formally my RayBan ones, now my ones from Firmoo). At one point if you asked me to wear contacts I'd have told you I'd rather not be able to see on nights out than stick my fingers in my eyes, however as my sight is slowly getting worse I heavily rely on my contacts. I know in the blogging community contact lenses/glasses (not including sunglasses) are very rarely spoken about, so when I was asked if I could post an article on the blog about contacts I thought it would be an interesting read for you. So here we go...
When people think about ways to accent their fashion and style, there are certain things that usually come to mind. Some people enjoy trying new hairstyles on a regular basis, and others like to use makeup in different ways. Some prefer to use clothes to change their appearances, and for others, accessories are the best way to make certain styles really stand out. However, among all of these typical fashion considerations, one thing that doesn't come up as often but which can have a wonderful positive impact on your style is the way you wear your eyes. Makeup around your eyes and eyelashes is one thing but have you ever thought about the numerous ways in which contact lenses can actually improve your beauty?
To begin with, wearing contact lenses in general immediately makes you a more versatile person with regard to fashion. If you still like styles that involve eyewear such as fashionable glasses or eyeglasses, you are free to wear them but, you are not dependent on them for your eyesight. This way, you can play with different looks, some with glasses and some without, ultimately allowing you to have many more options when you outfit yourself. This is a wonderful freedom to have for someone who truly enjoys playing with fashion ideas.
Additionally, once you decide to wear contact lenses, you can start playing with the idea of colored contacts to help you with certain looks. These types of contact lenses literally make your eyes appear to be different colors than they naturally are, which means you can begin to change your eyes in the same way that most people change their hair! For example, if you have naturally brown eyes but feel like going blue for a while, you are perfectly free to do so; or, if you feel like green eyes would be complimented well by a particular outfit, you can simply put on your green contacts. These are fun possibilities that really can impact your style in a big way.
Finally, there are also other, more subtle ways to use contact lenses for your fashion efforts. For example, Acuvue contact lenses come in many different styles, one of which "Acuvue Define" is designed specifically to make your eyes stand out beautifully. These lenses won't change the color of your eyes, but instead they will emphasize the natural beauty of your eyes in a sharp, clear way that no makeup can manage on its own. If you are proud of your eyes, or simply want them to really shine for an evening, this sort of contact lens can help you to achieve the look you're going for.

DeleteI wear contacts and glasses, alternating between them. I love my specs - and it gives my eyes a break as contacts can dry my eyes. Even the ones that say they won't.
ReplyDeleteI love having the choice. xx
p.s love your glasses and the lip tatts.
Thanks Kelly xx
DeleteYou REALLY suit glasses, I have to admit, I wear glasses which look similar to yours and I only wear them out for a fashion statement as they are only for reading/driving/tv - most of the time I don't though :) x
