Its pay day its pay day

And its Friday...

Could today get any better!!

So I initally did this payday wishlist last Sunday and since then, the last week has been a bit of a shopping frenzy. I'm still on the hunt for something to wear tomorrow night- thinking an after work dash tonight to Topshop (even though the one in Durham is rubbish).

Considering last month I haven't been on the spending ban, I've actually saved way more money than I did when on the shopping ban. See I told you shopping bans were a waste of time. However as its Holly's wedding 4 weeks tomorrow, I am trying to curb the spending this month. So the things I want, I've had to really think about as to whether I need it. I'm still ebaying my life away trying to make some space in my wardrobes, sounds daft but some of my clothes have sentimental value and I don't want to sell them. But needs must.

So what have I got my eye on this month...

Aztec Skirt £165, All Saints BOUGHT
White Cashmire Vest £22, Topshop Boutique
Yellow Envelope Laptop Case £20, Asos RETURNED
Antelope Animal Print Wedges £80, Topshop.
17 Falsify Mascara £6.49, Boots. BOUGHT
Sully Fluropink Halterneck Dress £41, Reiss

If you follow me on Twitter (@raywhoisshe) you will have seen how narked off I am with trying to get one of these embellished All Saints skirts, I'm keep being outbid. However on my lunch on Monday I thought I would quickly check ebay and see if any skirts in my size had been listed. My size in the Aztec Skirt with a buy it now- seriously it was too good to be true. I've bought it and fingers crossed its in good nick. I ordered the Asos clutch for going out this weekend, however its not as nice as it looks on the website (gutted). I doubt the Reiss dress is going to be avaliable in my size as its in the Sale, however I'm off to Newcastle next Saturday with Holly so I'll be checking their store/John Lewis/Fenwicks to see if they have it in.

The animal wedges I think will have to wait until next payday.. you will see why later on. I need a new white vest for Holly's hen do in a smaller size as I'm sick of having to pull my current boutique vest up, as it has a habit of falling down all the blooming time. Managed to get my hands on the Falsify mascara last week- so far I'm quite happy with it- I'll be putting that to the test tomorrow night. I also want some hot rollers, I've got my eyes on the Babyliss 30 Ceramic Rollers, as thats what the hairdresser used on mine and Holly's hair for the trial, Sally's sell them for £55 however I've managed to see them somewhere for £29 with free p+p (I love a good bargain)

Anyway back onto why I won't be buying the Antelope wedges this month, Monday night I got a message on ebay saying that THE ALL SAINTS SHELL SKIRT IN MY SIZE WAS LISTED ON EBAY BRAND NEW WITH TAGS AS A BUY IT NOW (and breathe). I was in two minds as to buy it considering I just bought the Aztec skirt. However after a lot of thinking, I decided to buy it. It came yesterday in the post, and its in immaculate condition, and it fits perfect. Roll on Holly's hen do pt 2 and you'll see the pictures of it in action then. Debating whether to sell the Aztec skirt when it comes however I'm going to hold on to it for a bit while I make my mind up (yeah I'll end up keeping it).

So a massive thank you to Natalie for letting me know about the shell skirt!!!

Massive post for you there!! If you are interested in taking part in your face of the day on here, comment on the post below.

Have a fab weekend and don't do anything I wouldn't do!! xx

Batiste does it again...

Where do the talents of the inventors of Batiste end??

Sweet and Spirited Boho is the newest batiste fragrence on the block, and its replaced Blush as my all time favourite. Believe it or not, even though I swear by batiste in keeping the greasy mop top at bay, I'm not keen on the fragrence of the original or tropical, and will only use blush. However since recieving this in the post a fortnight ago, I've been prefering to use this instead.

What do Batiste say??

Boho is "the must-have product when touring this summer’s hottest festivals. Perfect for girls who like to rock a “live-permanently-in-a-tent-but–still-manage-to-look-fabulous-even-without water” vibe!"

What I have noticed about the "newer" Batiste products is the fab step by step instructions on how to use the product on the back on the bottle.
Very impressive!!

You all know how Batiste works and I know that a lot of bloggers swear by the product. I would be lost without it, as I use this to prolong the colour in my red hair. Also I have noticed that after using batiste on my hair, there is never any residue/powder left- shame this can't be said for other brands.

I will let you in on a little secret- my brother swears by Batiste. He claims he doesn't use it, however on a morning you can hear him sneaking into my room and then him spraying it, before running out and denying all knowledge of using it. I've also noticed that my bottle of boho is going down quicker than my blush, so its safe to say that the boho scent is popular with blokes too!!

Batiste is avaliable from all supermarkets and chemists rrp £2.99 for 330ml.

*this product was provided for review purposes, all views and opinions are my own (its Batiste- everyone loves it)*

Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream

One thing I love about JEM is her obsession with nail polish, if we ever want to buy a new Barry M or Models Own nail polish we always check with the other as to whether we have it or not. Baby pinks are not one of those colours I am that fond of, however after seeing pastal shades on loads of your blogs I decided to give this a whirl. Luckily I could call on JEM to borrow this summery shade off.

Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream.

On these pictures I have used two coats, and I am in love with the colour. As raisin face would say "its to DIE for". Like all Barry M colours 2 coats is more than enough, and it drys super quick. However one thing which I do not like about pastel nail polishes from Barry M is how streaky the polish is.

Check out my middle finger- how streaky is this. Also one of my pet hates (which you can see on my ring finger) is when you can see the whites of your nail through a polish. However another coat of polish will easily rectify this problem. I do like this colour, however I don't think I will purchase it myself- I'll just pinch JEM's. Another bonus of this polish is its work friendly.

Speaking of JEM she will be making a return to the blog in the not so distant future.

Oil Slick

Hurrah its only bloooooooooooooooooddddddddyyyyyyyy Friday.

Tres excited for the weekend- Harry Potter tomorrow in Imax 3D (I want my HP 3D specs too) with my darling Stephy, with a spot of shopping and then some excessive brew drinking at hers. I need to find my tissues cause I have a gut feeling I am going to be blaring like a baby. Daring to try St Tropez lotion tonight on my top half, that should be interesting.

Anyway last night Kayleigh was bbm-ing me a dress which she is wanting to wear when we go out next Saturday night (I miss our perving on fit men in Buddha sessions), and it got me thinking about buying a new dress for next Saturday. I've seen one I like from Reiss, however its sold out online in my size (typical). However while making a brew for everyone in the office, wet look leggings popped up in my brain. Yes I have random thoughts. Now you all know I love my wet look leggings (seen here and here) and to me I normally associate them with A/W, however if the weather continues the way it is, I think I may dare to venture out in them next Saturday night.

I can see people out in leggings and admire how fab they look, however I think I am stuck in a dress rut (ie never feel dressed enough unless I'm wearing a dress). A quick look on google, I found these two images...

Seriously though, how effortlessly chic and "just thrown together" do they look. Oh how I wish I looked like this on a night out. Then I got thinking.. "who always looks fab in wet look leggings"..

Queen LC.

How fabulous do these outfits look!!!

From looking at these images I definately want to embrace the whole leather leggings look in Summer, first need to buy a new pair from Topshop mine are looking a bit tatty now. I actually do have aspotty Topshop blouse... hmmm ideas ideas.

Let me know what your thoughts are on Leather/Wet Look Leggings, would you wear them for a night out?? Do you feel "dressed" in them?? I really want to know.

Have a fab weekend everyone!!

Colour blocking it like a game of Tetris...

I've just found this picture, taken in my usual evening ootd spot in Buddha (off there for lunch today- yum) from my night on the tiles with my favourite marras. This was the day I got my hair/make up done for Holly's wedding trial- this was the second time ever I have been on a night out with my hair up. Also you can kinda see (more so if you look at the pictures from the night), how red my hair is now. Also how fab is he-shi dark tanning mousse??

Anyway back to the point of my outfit- while shopping with Holly we spied these in Zara, and I thought I would be brave in going bright with the colour blocking trend. You can still buy the top and skirt in Zara stores in the sale, unfortuately they aren't avaliable on the site anymore. I am going to try and link you up to the products I am wearing, just in case you want to buy it yourself (or you may not).

Nude suede peep toes- New Look
Purple double zip skirt- Zara
Lime green silk tee- Zara
Tan- He-Shi dark mousse
Bag- Chanel Medium/Large 2.55 (not seen).

As you may have seen from the photos it was a fab night!!

Also can I ask you all a MASSIVE favour pleeeeeeaaaaaassssseeee.

You've seen this skirt mention on here a 1001 times, if any of you live near an All Saints (not Newcastle or Metro Centre) store or have this yourself in a 12 and want to sell (providing its the new all saints labeling inside) and would be willing to get me this. I would love you for ever and ever and ever and I would send you the money for the skirt and p+p through paypal.

If you can email or tweet me that would be brilliant!!! I need this for Holly's hen do.

Muchos love xxx

Aftersun of doom..

I think the title of this post gives the game away. I am not a happy bunny with this product at all. Its actually since gone in the bin since these photos have been taken.

I've been staring at the bottle of this on my desk at work since the week after I came back from my holidays- so that would have been say April?? And I've finally gotten around to reviewing it. Now my all time favourite aftersun/moisturiser is Hawiian Tropic Butter which you can get from Boots or Home Bargains (£3.99). However after burning (we all know what happened) and peeling I decided to get a cheap bottle of moisturiser to keep on my desk at work.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Aftersun was on offer, and as I've always liked the scent and this brand, I thought I would give it ago. Now look closely at the writing on the bottle.. does it mention any additional products in it?? Nope.

So after showering I lathered myself in this (excluding my neck/face) and the scent and colour/consistency is exactly the same as any Garnier product. It absorbed really quickly into my skin and really hydrated my dry flakey skin. Off to bed I went... thinking everything was fine...

Next morning, I woke up to the stench of FAKE TAN. Half asleep and confused, I thought I must be imagining it. Cue getting out of bed and finding myself half fake tanned/half natural tan!!! Looking very closely on the back of the product I found that it contained the dreaded fake tan!!

Cue a not very happy and half oompa loompa Ray!!

In all honestly, would I recommend an aftersun with fake tan in it? Should aftersun actually contain fake tan?? Imagine slathering yourself with this, when your burnt on holiday- what a lush sight that will be the next morning. After this experience, I won't be buying this again, and checking in minute detail as to whether fake tan is secretly hidden in it!!

Bigger is most definately better...

....when it comes to Maxi Clutches.

I know what you were thinking, dirty mares..

Another one of my all time favourite obsessions is maxi clutches. Well before the Chanel babies came into my life any night out I was on, you would see me with a clutch bag of various sizes. To me an ideal clutch is one which you can fit just the right amount of products in it- no-one wants to see outlines of whats in your bag bulging through.

Also the use of a brightly coloured clutch can add a pop of colour to a plain outfit, or teamed with a brightly coloured dress your doing the colour blocking trend. For some reason I always want to use a brightly coloured maxi in the summer, however at this time of year you can hardly find any. I always find that its Christmas time when the stores decide to stock their nice clutches.

However there are some gems to be found on the highstreet..

Top- Sloan Leather, £215 Michael Kors @ Net-a-Porter.com, Black Envelope, £45 Warehouse, Woven Leather and Suede, £395 Miu Miu @ Net-a-Porter.com, Pink Patent Leather, £12.99 New Look.
Bottom- Blue Metal Tip, £18 Asos, Pink Twist Lock, £25 Topshop, Black Flat Zip Contrast Clutch, £20 Asos, Cream Weave Metal Tip, £30 Asos, Yellow Portfolio Envelope, £20 Asos.

As you can gather, Asos have come up trumps with having the best selection on maxi clutches. I am loving the bright primary colours- definately debating whether to buy either the blue or the yellow clutch or perhaps the cream woven one for Holly's hen do. Or I might just buy them anyway, any excuse to spend money.

Oh and on a parting note- I give to you my "bigger than a maxi" vintage maxi clutch

For me the maxi clutch trend will never go out of fashion- whats your thoughts on it??

Sparkle Sparkle

Considering I'm now off the spending ban I have found a new found obsession for fashion. I'm feeling like I want a wardrobe overhaul. As I'm getting older and more wiser I'm starting to think about investing money in more classic items (this is the excuse I use when buying my Chanel lol), hence my current obsession with embellished skirts. More specifically All Saints embellished skirts.

Aztec Skirt, Kori Mini Skirt, Shell Skirt, Paloma Skirt (priced between £115-195).

As you may have noticed last week, I was selling a Devo skirt on here, in a nutshell due to All Saints dodgy sizing the 12 which fit well in the aztec skirt, was about 2 sizes too big in the Devo skirt I bought off ebay. Moral of the story- try the skirts on in the shop before ordering. I've ordered the Shell skirt from the site to see what the fitting is like in an 8 (thinking its going to be like the devo ie weighs a ton). But then I am loving the aztec skirt more.

Chaztec Skirt, Devo Skirt, Aztec Skirt, Chan Skirt (priced £115-165).

I'm really wanting one of these skirts, as I don't think they won't go out of fashion. I always feel All Saints clothing is classic and never age. These skirts can be teamed with a white/grey/black vest or tee, a killer pair of heels and there you have it, a effortlessly cool outfit for a night out. Then when it starts to get colder pair with a leather jacket or a blazer- the leather jacket will toughen the outfit up for a edgier look, and the blazer will make it more sophisticated.

Thats my arguement for buying one haha. After trying the heavy devo skirt on, personally I would recommend one of the sequinned ones as you know you wont loose beads if you sit down etc. My favourites have got to be the shell skirt (however I think it looks quite plain if that makes sense- but its still lush) and then the Aztec Skirt (second row) and the Chaztec Skirt.

Do you own any of these skirts? Whats your favouites??
30 day shred is starting today- wish me luck!!

Mardy Bum- June Favourites

I know I'm well behind on the band wagon with my June favourites, however I have no idea where the time has gone too. I can't believe its been two weeks since Holly's hen do, and its already mid July. Time definately flies when you get old (aka 26). Anyway this week I haven't had chance to read/comment on many blogs as work has been super busy and then I'm going through the phase of "selling my life away" on ebay (hence the blog sales on here) as I literally can't fit any more clothes into my two wardrobes and two sets of drawers.

So "Blog Stalker" will be back in a couple of weeks, I'm hoping that we may see a NOTD post or something from JEM too. Also I'm still going through the faff on with trying to figure out the All Saints skirt sizing (if you have a sz 10 gold Devo Skirt you want to sell, email me), as I really need the Devo skirt for Holly's second hen do. Apart from that my life is boring, no going out nothing. Plus I have a backlog of a million review posts to do- arghhhhh.

Thats my life at the moment in a nutshell... back to the point of the post- June Favourites.
Q10 Eye Cream- I bought this at the start of June from one of mine and Stephy's favourite shops in the world ever- Home Bargains, for the bargain price of £1.19. Believe it or not, its reduced the dark circles from under my eyes and is very hydrating. A little goes a very long way. Plus for £1.19 its not breaking the bank. Tip for you all- check out the health and beauty stuff in HB you will be pleasently suprised.

Benefit Her Glossiness (Life on the A-List)- sums my life up really doesn't it lol. This was my all time favourite lipgloss years and years ago before getting hit by the Mac bug. I believe Benefit actually discontinued it, but then have they relaunched it (??). This is a fab pink colour, which lasts on your lips for ages. If you are used to the taste/smell of Mac products, this lipgloss smells/tastes rancid, but for some reason the smell of it reminds me of Thurday nights out with Holly in Walkabout getting mortal off £20 (oh the memories).

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara- You all know how I love this mascara and recently it has been neglected. However I've been wearing this for work, and I just love it. Nuff said on the matter.

Soap and Glory Heel Genius- not to be used on your feet, but actually as hand cream. Seriously if you have this, try it as hand cream. Its the best invention ever. Heavy duty moisturizer for your hands. I keep this on my desk at work at the soap in the dispensers really dry your hands out. A little goes a long way though.

Tommyguns Colour Save Intensive Masque- I was initally sent this product along with some other Tommyguns products to review (reviews to come), and I've since bought another tub from John Lewis. I use this once a fortnight as a deep conditioning treatment for my red hair. I don't really want to go into too much detail here as I want to save it for my review, but this works wonders on your hair. This is better than Philip Kingsley products, and even better a quarter of the price.

China Glaze (Below Deck)- I don't really feel like this is a summery nail polish, however I do think its more of a going out/work nail polish. Some say this is a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal, however I am not convinced. I'm going to have a proper play with this, and JEMs Barry M Dusky Mauve and Models Own Purple Grey. I do love this colour, although it does chip easy (wait til you see the notd post).

Burts Bees Lipbalm (Mango)- After seeing Take That for some reason my lips were very chapped, and no amount of my old faithful chapstick was getting my lips back to normal. Stephy actually recommended this as she swears by the pomegranette one. Its done the job- it tastes/smells lush and my lips are in tip top condition. However I am missing the chapstick...

Mac Typographic Eyeshadow- I'm 99.9% sure I've mentioned this eyeshadow in other monthly favourites, however this is my all time favourite eyeshadow. Lately when doing out I've been having more of a golden smokey eye with woodwinked, all that glitters, satin taupe and print instead of my normal grey/black staple. However after deciding on a smokey eye and rediscovering my love for this I have been using this more. I prefer this to carbon, as with carbon you have to build the colour up, where with typographic boom the colour is there. Both myself and Holly also used this for our make up on her hen do- I think Holly is a convert to this now.

Some swatches for you.
Left- Life on the A List and Right- Typographic (this is what it looks like- the colour hasn't been built up).

I still have items for sale on my two blog sales (see two posts below). I am also willing to do offers on products (email me).

Have a fab weekend chickadees.

Who Loves Orange Soda

"Kel loves orange soda, I dooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

Who remembers Keenan and Kel from Nickelodeon?? Ahh memories.

With it supposedly being Summer and all that jazz (I'm currently typing this on my lunch while it chucks it down), I am trying to find the most summery nail polishes going. You know when you have that ideal shade of polish in your mind, yet you can never find what you are looking for. I've been doing that with orange nail polishes. The polish which I have been wearing for the last week, I've had for quite a few months when I picked it up on a 3 for 2 (JEM was still at work when I got it, so I'm thinking March time) and finally got around to wearing it last week.

Boots 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Orange Soda.

As you can see this is a bright (but not too bright) orange, which reminds me of orangeade. To get the consistency you can see in the picture above it took two coats. Depending on how you apply your nail polish one coat may be enough, however for me I needed two as it was a bit streaky.
The picture for this NOTD was taken two days after initally applying it and as you can see there is very little tip wear and no chips. I'm kinda missing my extensions as there was never no wear, however being able to wear bright colours overrides the extensions any day.

Considering I haven't used 17 nail polishes in years, I was very impressed with the quality of the polish. Also as you can buy smaller bottles of their nail polish for £2.99. So if you're not keen on a colour, you can easily get it used up in no time. I'm definately going to be betraying Models Own and Barry M in future to try more 17 polishes.. well after I've used some of my other polishes up first. It appears my collection is getting out of hand, and could potentially give JEMs a run for her money.

Have you seen 17's falsifeye mascara?? Really want to try this. I think a cheeky purchase may be in order soon.

Dreams can come true...

This is it, YouTube finally decided to co-operate with me and uploaded the video...

Introducing Moho the bloody tankatronic legend aka Holly singing "I'm just a sweet transvestite" on her hen do..

Enjoy!!

note- that is not me singing/talking in the background. Its everyone else.

MySpace eat your heart out....

This isn't the suprise video post by the way, YouTube yet again last night was been a word which rhymes with runt (pardon my french). Therefore in times of desperation I have decided to post...

a face of the day

Now before you all end up projectile vomiting etc, this is going to be a once in a blue moon type of post. I don't actually know why I am posting this as you can't really pick some of the products up on the picture. If you look at the pictures from the hen weekend you can see my make up better. This make up is more of an extreme version of my smokey eye for a night out, as well as the back combed hair. I had to go through the hotel like this to get to Stacey's room on Saturday night with my bikini cover up dress on (always wear this when I'm doing my hair and make up) and I felt like one of the lasses from Geordie Shore.

So without further ado...
Check out my MySpace esq picture (I really don't know how to take fotd pictures any advice would be appreciated).

I also look like a twat.

Face.
Benefit Boi-ing (shade 2) on my eyes as a primer.
Mac Select Moisturecover Concealer (NW20).
Mac MSFN in Medium Deep.
Mac MSFN in Soft and Gentle (as highlight)
Mac Melba Blush.
Mac Bronzer in Refined Golden.

Eyes.
All Mac eyeshadows.
Shroom as a base.
Elecktra all over lid.
Knight Devine in crease.
Typographic blended in and above (I really don't know the technical names) and below eye.
Vanilla as a brow highlight.

Lips.
Mac Creme d'nude (my new favourite nude lippy)

I sound like a right Mac fiend.

Hair.
Foxy Locks Instant Beehive (link)
3 wefts of my old Additional Lengths hair extensions- dyed to match my hair colour. (link)
Backcombed like a good un using my denman brush.

Really need to remember to get my new hair extensions dyed as even though they matched my old hair colour, they need to be redone. Roll on next weekend to get that done. Off shopping to Newcastle tomorrow- my first proper shopping trip in over a month. Well excited- if you see a nutter with red hair running through Eldon Square tomorrow, that will be me haha.

Have a fab weekend everyone and fingers crossed I can get this video onto YouTube!!

Blog Stalker #15

Yes your eyes aren't decieving you- it's blog stalker on a Thurday!!! I like to keep you on your toes. So last night the stupid f-ing laptop decided it was refusing point blank to upload a certain video to YouTube which was supposed to be todays post. So instead I am bringing you Blog Stalker today and hopefully the video tomorrow (if not the laptop is getting thrown out the window). If only today was Friday... roll on shopping in Newcastle on Saturday.. first shopping trip post spending ban- you know its going to be messy.

There is only two blogs I'm featuring this week- you could also say its a North-East lovefest..

You will probably be aware of Haidee's youtube videos and spoofs, which I am currently working my way through. Haidee is an absolute doll and seriously her craic is of epic proportions. Follow her blog or her YouTube chanel!! Do it!!

I have sat and read Simone's blog from start to finish over the last few days. I love how she wear items from the highstreet (I am loving her Topshop addiction) but makes them her own and look very expensive. She's also on a look out for a Topshop kimono and if any of you could help her out I would pay you with love and jelly tots. Follow- stat!!

Sorry its a short one this week, 1001 things to do and not enough time to do it!!

Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me- Holly's Hen Do

*warning- photo heavy/men in tights*

I am finally recovered from Holly's hen weekend!! I couldn't really mention much on the blog leading up to Holly's hen do as she reads the blog and I couldn't risk reveling any of the suprises for her. As "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is her favourite film of all time, she wanted the theme of her hen weekend to be Rocky Horror. Luckily Stacey had managed to find a company which do Rocky Horror Murder Mystery weekend (www.murdermostfoul.co.uk) so last weekend we went to Stratford  Manor in Stratford upon Avon.

Basically we spent all of the weekend in the hotel, bar a trip into Stratford on the Saturday morning (spent £6 in H+M on a skirt and tee- check me out bargain hunter), so it was quite a cheap weekend for us all. I've kinda had to be careful when putting some of the pictures online as I didn't want to cause any offence to anyone. Also the photos (bar the first one) are of me and Holly as none of the other girls know about the blog.

So here is our weekend in a nutshell... I should get a picture of my bruised back from Holly abusing me..

Friday
Stacey, Elaine, Sally, Moi, The Bride to be.
Holly finding something amusing.

Retro MySpace poses.
Posing with my props.

A present I stole from the lobby for Holly.
Moho with her special hat and glass- before she did a runner to bed.

Saturday

Attacked by streamers.
Abusing Brian May look a like

Roger aka Rocky, Moho aka Frank n Furter and some random drunk.
Spot the lady (Holly's outfit was the best by far)

Holly's fab outfit!!
Outfit- ebay
Make up- done herself (Pixiwoo tutorial)
Hair- her own afro

Moi.
Outfit- Ann Summers.
Black tutu- ebay
Tights- Henry Holland (which now have a hole in them RIP)
Boots- Topshop.

I think Holly is still buzzing from her weekend away- roll on her second hen do down Durham on 13th August (which is also JEMs first night out on the drink since bambino). Fingers crossed if the video will upload onto YouTube there may be a special treat for you all tomorrow.

Dammit Janet- NOTD

Sometimes I think I need to be smacked with a stick- the plan for last night was to upload the pictures onto my laptop ready for today and tomorrow's posts. Yeah so that didn't exactly go to plan.. come half seven that was me out for the night.

Those who are close to me know how much I love my sleep and how I can't cope/function with at least 8 hours of sleep a night. And yes I am known for partaking in an afternoon nap or two. So instead of seeing pictures of the weekend/the suprise I have for you later on in the week you are all going to have to make do with mine and Holly's nail of the hen weekend.

As the theme was Rocky Horror, red nail polish was a must. I was debating whether to use my Opi Red Ayers Rock polish (see review here), however due to it chipping like a good un last time I had it on my natural nails, I remembered I had this polish hidden away in my drawers (also check me out taking pictures for the notd post when I should have been getting ready lol).

Barry M Bright Red

On these pictures I've actually used three coats of the polish as by Saturday morning (I painted them Thursday night) there was signs of wear on the tips of my nails. I really like how glossy the polish comes out- I think with this polish the more coats, the better the shine.

My paint job is a bit dodgy, as I kinda may have fallen asleep (suprise suprise) after painting them, so a couple of my nails have sheet marks on them.  I think because I am so used to the thicker consistency of Models Own polish and being able to get away with one coat, I'm not used to having to build layer upon layer of polish up. However I do love this colour, and as its an in your face red- it does what it says. A top coat is a must with this polish as if you run your nails over some paper etc, the colour does come off.

Think I will be checking to see whether Models Own do any bright red polishes or maybe another drug store brand- any suggestions??
